I'm trying to sew more -- something, anything! My table (aka the sewing area) was covered in bits of garden for awhile, and I cleared it off on Saturday to stitch up the mock-up, then Sunday evicted the spider and apparently all of the flies hanging around the kitchen. Felt much better to have that area tidy again.
I pulled some UFOs out of a box to get them out of said box a few weeks ago, and today I finally got around to it. First I cut the quilted fabric to make a petticoat, but I can't decide if I want to make it less wide/longer or leave it as-is (short and wide; 36" long and 120" hem, or make it closer to 90" hem and take the bits I cut off to make it a bit longer, as my skirts should be closer to 37-38"), not to mention that fabric is dark, and my serger is currently threaded in white. So I decided to clear out a UFO instead. It was awaiting a hem on a ruffle, and then attaching the ruffle to the skirt. Once that was done, I have to serge the seam, topstitch it down, attach the front bodice lining, add a button and holes to the straps, and then trim up everything wot needs trimming. And then post it on Etsy, since I have decided to not wear loli dresses anymore. That means thinking up prices. Sigh, not my favourite part.
Con this weekend so a whole lot of nothing will be happening for the next few days. Ah well. I don't know what I'm wearing, or even how many days I'll be going. It's really out of my budget :(
