I went to the Spring Festival at the Japanese gardens today :D we arrived later than we wanted to 'cause the map we had didn't reflect name changes in the streets, so we wound up driving around the back roads of ALberta for a bit ^^; Though funnily enough, we were sent to the overflow parking (which looked like an area they actually work in) and when we got out of the car, who should be pulling in behind us but Beej and friends XD

It was really hot out, and there was lots of people there. We got there in time to view the dancing (which we missed most of, taking instead a stroll through the butterfly gardens and a chigiri-e art display), wandered a bit more, grabbed a seat in the shade for the koto demonstration and then stayed for Kita no Taiko, the local taiko group who often play Animethon :D We had FABOO seats, for the final song, the nearest drum was myabe 6 feet away from me. It was an amazing performance.

Afterwards, we wandered through the other half of the gardens for an hour, and then headed out to go for ice cream :3 mmm yummy. AND THEN!! MAXWELL DROVE ME HOME IN HIS SMART CAR!!!! JOY!!!!! It's such a small vehicle, but it feels a lot bigger!! I always thought they were quiet from the street for being a diesel engined vehicle, but inside of it, it's very throaty. You kinda forget you're in a tiny car :D

Here's a couple pictures of me in my outfit XD I got three comments of "I love it", one of "little bo peep... you've lost your sheep.... and don't know where to find them" which I just kinda laughed at, and only a couple questions as to why i wore it ;)
