I made the split rump once i woke up again (at 11am!) (and ok, it was still a couple hours later, plus i had to make the pattern) and i am sooooo happy with how it looks. No pic of tje rump by itself yet, but here's a comparison of how the dress looks with the old rump (left; how i wore it this summer) and new (right)

I did it all by machine, and used polyfill in the pillows cuz that's what i have. Easy afternoon project, it only took a couple hours.

Then i measured for skirt lengths and i have a dilemma! I know im 40" waist to floor without shoes. The rump adds 5". Allowing for shoes and an appropriately ankle-baring length, i think my planned fabric is too short. I got it on clearance in LA so no way to get more, and ive got just a hair short of 2 metres. It's the length over the rump that worries me.

How do y'all make decisions and follow tjrough on them? I was about to rip it in half anyway and then remembered i was going to look into a robe a la turque too (but 2m is probably not enough for that either!). I hate the indecision but im also not sure how to get past it without external forces like a deadline.

Also i looked up the themes for coco next year. I dont plan to actually attend the tea but the theme is fancy dress. Im soooooo down for that :D
