Something fun

Every now and then I remember how much I enjoy writing. Not just during NaNoWriMo, which is usually a frenzy, but in general. I used to write ALL THE TIME. I have piles of notebooks with scenes and snippets and longer pieces with no end. Stuff happened, blah blah blah, that's a post for another time. I stopped writing, except for NaNo.
I've blathered on about this in the past, but being a writer was one identifier I could never quite bring myself to drop. I still enjoy it when I do it, I just don't do it often. I tried to do Camp NaNo in April with mixed results (I did write 3k!). In chatting with
trirocksalt this week, I remembered my love of wtriting fanfiction, which is what I cut my teeth on waaaaaaaaay back in the day (literally, I posted a few RPF stories to fanfiction.net before they stopped hosting them). So now I'm thinking about those stories I had in progress, and wanting to find and write new ones, and where are the fans these days anyway? (I know, I know, they're on tumblr) It's not even that I need to be part of a fandom to write or post, I mostly just need to write for me.
I've said all of this before and I know the likelihood of me following through on this is rather slim but... I don't want to forget. I still hear you, inner writer. I know you're there, waiting.
