On my week off I:

Finished a pair of shorts
Finished a blouse (minus elastic, of which I apparently have none)
Emptied several boxes out of the garage, and loaded up the car with stuff for donation
Saw Thor: Love and Thunder (I liked it)
Finished the heel flap on a pair of socks
Cleaned off my sewing table
Found a pattern I was looking for (but did not find the fabric I wanted to sew it with)
Moved the treadle table downstairs (alone; do not recommend. If it had any drawers at all I could not have done it, but it is literally a base and a top; the one drawer it still had was in the garage still)
Napped like a boss
Bought and then built an adorable puzzle of a tabby cat curled up on a quilt (it took two days because the cat is striped and sooooo much of it was "hmm where is this semi-dark piece with a swooshy corner" and "try everything with this configuration until it fits")
Attended a food festival with a friend I haven't seen in literally a year
Made significant progress on my waistcoat

The waistcoat was fun because it is part of the trade I made with a fandom friend, and she fulfiled her end of the bargain two weeks after we made it, and then posted about it on the anniversary and where was her pictures of my suit HMMMMMMMM???? I was just avoiding it because the thought of tailoring et al was terrifying, but I cut full fronts out of the horsehair and pulled out the linen, and got to work. And it's actually not that horrible, esp since I'm leaving the canvas as mostly floating. It's only secured in a few places. The actual sewing is fine lol. Who woulda guessed?

Back to work tomorrow, so I will print out the other patterns I need for this project. The main one is a blazer. It's a modern pattern, but the shapes are very similar to the ones in period manuals, and I really need more of a mannish-type jacket than the ones for women (the type of jacket I want exists, but it's not common, and more of a pain to draft and fit than one that's ready-made, WITH an extensive fitting guide to troubleshoot various problems). Gonna be making at least one fully-realized mockup first, plus probably a second jacket to match the pants I made last year, before tackling this one. It's a big time investment, I want it to be perfect (or close to).

I don't especially want to go back, but I do feel refreshed after a week + a holiday weekend away. Bring on the rest of summer.

Sounds like a lovely week off! I am in awe of your ability to move the treadle table. Those things are mostly cast iron and SO HEAVY as a result. I don't know how you did it! Mmm, food festival. Yum! I continue to enjoy your suit saga!
