totchipandaHalfway through Black Panther, I started getting what I thought was a headache. It ended up being a full blown migraine, complete with nausea (friday) and neck tension (saturday) and light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, the whole shebang. It SUCKED. It finally started to evict itself Sunday morning, just in time for Jesus Christ Superstar.
Black Panther was really good. If you want to see a movie about heroes and villains, you will be disappointed. It's really a movie about grief and grieving, and the burden of leadership, and in that it excelled. The physical antagonist is a very juicy man whom my roommate fell in love with and tumblr is very thirsty for, and I am not mad about it at all because hello.
Jesus Christ Superstar was... a thing. I knew three words before I went in, and I knew three words when I came out. I grew up in an a-religious household so I'm not all that familiar with a lot of the Bible stories. There were definite good moments, you could see our Jesus had amazing hair even from where we were sitting, I really liked the use of lighting and glitter as a storytelling mechanism, and the apostles assembling for the last supper was GENIUS. The actors all put their entire asses into it, and I appreciated that.
Since Sunday morning I was finally well enough to do things, I changed my sheets and showered, and then my brain was doing that ADHD thing where I have plans in the afternoon, so that means I can do absolutely nothing in the morning. WRONG! I had almost an hour, so I sewed the zip into the trousers and that was one of the best zipper experiences ever, even without a zipper foot. Now it's just fronts and backs getting married, the waistband and hemming.
I also finished knitting my other roommate's headband, so that was nice.
Then I had insomnia last night, and i was awake until probably 2 am. I don't know how much I slept, but it was definitely not enough.
