Happy New Year! I hope you all had a peaceful new year free of fireworks at 1 am and no bullshit. (JK about the fireworks, I know where some of you live...)

After I got home Friday (at 2pm, because I decided to go indulge my fannish heart and get a Funko Pop figure so I stopped in the mall on the way home, and then got some non-floral soap on sale, a bus pass and some cream), I cut out the cap pieces! I had some confusion regarding how many to cut and where, plus my iron decided to splooge all over my pretty organdy! (I cut around the worst of it, I was tired AF and didn't want to wait to wash and dry; that's future-me's problem now), and then I started stitching!

Saturday I spent the whole day stitching, with a break in the middle for a trip to the mall (roomie M really wanted Starbucks, I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I bought a book, and then another Funko Pop, and I would have bought some lego if they'd had the set I wanted). By the end of the night, I had the base pieces hemmed and partially assembled when I ran into another issue. By then it was like, 10pm, so it was time to stop lol.

Sunday was spent playing board games with some of my very favourite people, and my heart was so happy. There was doggos and small humans, a baby to cuddle (he just wanted to bounce), fun games, good food and better company. We were a small group of 5 (funnily enough 2 sets of parents and me, which I don't know how I got into this pod but I wasn't mad about it at all) and we all decided that we wanted to do it more, so we made plans to do so.

Monday I finished the cap completely, including putting a second row of ruffles on one side. I will do the other side after I take some photos of the base construction, and it still needs ribbons et al. I was done-done-done at around 6pm, so that was that! What do I do now??

I decided that this would be the year I learn how to spin roving into yarn. An author I follow does a "Begin as you mean to go on" "challenge" rather than resolutions, which is much more my speed, so I spent a few minutes Sunday morning cleaning off the spinning wheel (gathering dust, really, for the past 4 years) and then practiced treadling. I had completely forgotten this intention yesterday, so I did not spin when I had the opportunity... but today! It shall happen today.

This weekend I have a yarn dying class and then a Broadway show, so I will be kept busyish for a little while at least. Since most of my current projects are finished, my choices are knitting or (gulp) a UFO.
