Aug. 15th, 2023 07:42 amIt's official, papers are signed and I am set to pick up keys on the 31st. Now I REALLY have to enact my plan of "packing at least one hour per day" because time marches on!
The place does fixed 6-month leases, and one of the papers I signed was an acknowledgement that the building will be demolished at some point in the not-too-near future. Their rough estimate is 3-5 years, which I feel is a good amount of time for me to be settled but also possibly ready to move on.
So, packing. Kitchen is sorted (mostly) and I mostly just need to actually PACK it. I think I will start in the basement first, as that is where I did the most er, explosion. There's some things down there that will just never get unpacked or come with me so... time to go away.
After I got home, showered and had dinner, I went over to my dad's place to visit the beanies. I took some knitting with me to see what would happen, and it was exactly as I thought lol. They always enjoyed the string on the wand toys just as much as the bit on the end, so when I pulled it out and started to work, Calcifer stuck her nose in the bag cautiously, but then was very enthusiastic about both the cable of the needles and the yarn itself. Later, Sophie also "helped" "investigate" the yarn. I got to witness zoomies o'clock not long after, so I will definitely need to be careful about when I knit lol.
