THE DREADED RONA

Ahahaha guess who caught COVID! ME! I woke up Thursday with less sore throat but more congestion and I really felt fine besides that. But I thought, I will take one of these tests from work which are expiring in a couple weeks and see what they say. I took one earlier this month that was definitely negative, so imagine my surprise to pull the strip out and see the positive line! I went home and stayed home except for two visits to my friends' house where I am checking on their kitties and making sure their house is not flooding while they were visiting her family in the south-west US for Thanksgiving. I like to stay for a couple hours when I do that, to distribute pets and loves as needed, but I masked and only stayed about 20 mins. Sorry kittens!
Started feeling more like a human late yesterday, and today am back at work with negative tests. I just sound terrible bc I'm all congested. This round was 95% congestion, aside from that early warning of sore throat and some coughing, my sinuses took the brunt of it.
Being sick, I got absolutely nothing done because I was literally in bed for three days. I caught up on Drag Race UK and Canada, and then finished up Face Off on Netflix. OK that's not entirely true. I knit one more tiny tree sock while in bed, and then four rows of my shawl once I got home after kitten time yesterday.
Did do some potentially ill-advised shopping on Friday though. I've been eyeing a Kindle for awhile, so on Thursday when they went on a small sale I bought one (with Kindle unlimited, meaning there are many books I can read without outright purchasing them, and I will be mindful of how author's get paid for those reads), plus a case that I can use with it propped up which I think will help when I'm knitting. (ongoing trying to teach myself to knit without looking, mixed success) I also got some markers and stickies that are recommended in the booktok/bookstagram circles for annotating books, and safety eyes so I can FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY have ultra cute knitted toys! Particularly frogs. And kittens. And a rat. And maybe a rhino! Anyway, fun things will be happening this winter.
Also got some fun yarns and a bra pattern plus two kits. Spent WAY too much money, dipping far into my rent money, but I get paid again on the 1st and will send the payment first thing in the morning.
Had two shifts that I had to cancel this weekend because covid, but now that I'm negative I can start going again. Masked! Will be masking, because I don't want to do this again!
Must book the kittens in for spaying soon, it is getting far too close to their "season" for my liking.
