Feb. 12th, 2024 02:22 pmSparkleball update: Purple and blue have gone missing, but I finally fished orange out from underneath the couch.
Did not do very much on Saturday besides knit and loaf around the house. Actually can't think of anything I did at all. Didn't even get much knitting in because the kittens were so halpful.
Sunday though. I cleaned out three more boxes, reorganized my sewing corner a little bit, got body slammed by a kitten as they vaulted over the stack of boxes and into me, organized some patterns (with help made of kittens sliding into the pile), made GF bread (the kittens knocked the bowl off the counter), fried up the last of the Thai food for lunch, showered, and changed my sheets (with plenty of help from Calcifer in particular). And, because I felt like it, I finished the petticoat except for waist elastic and closures. I will not get the machine fixed any time soon, so rather than have this weigh on my mind, I rewound the spool bobbin onto a circular one and stitched away (can you guess? with the kittens' help). I tell ya, they were onto something with self-trim, I used a strip of same-fabric to cover the ruffle edge and it's super cute.
Pants pattern pulled out for testing, and I immediately procrastinated on it. Partly because I was really done with the feline help at that time lol. I know I should make a mock up but I just... i just... SIGH why does this have to be a thing, why can't it just fit right away! Why do I have to not like wearing skirts and dresses which are easier to fit!
Part of why I wanted to finish the petticoat was to kind of kickstart my sew-jo. Yeah it's winter and so little inspires me to be creative rn, but finishing this project made me very happy and I'm ready for the next one!
