Stays are now a full set! The final seam in CF was a right royal PAIN IN MY ASS. The most comfortable way it sat across my lap was with the bottom on the right and I was working right to left. I tried to sew from left to right but my stitches got gappy and I also STABBED MYSELF DEEPLY. Of course I did it while Sophie was on my lap (and the stays) and I wanted her to move so I could get a tissue to blot the blood, but she didn't want to and I didn't want to smear blood on her no matter how little. I really hope it still fits because I broke several needles (I wanna say 4?) and I don't want to do any of it again.

Not tonight though, because M and I are going to a movie. I need to do grocery shopping and get cat food this weekend (like tomorrow morning) and I really really want to clean up a few things around my place that I've been ignoring all week.

The last week and a half was a real struggle, budget-wise. As of yesterday afternoon, Amazon still hadn't refunded me and that would have been the outer limit of the 5-7 business days I was told last week so I might have to call them again. Today is payday and I am so relieved to not be worried about it anymore.

You know what else I'm not worried about anymore, which I entirely forgot to mention, is that my extremely talkative newbie who read his emails out loud and replies as he wrote them, and every other damn aspect of his day (so distracting i cannot even!), was let go. His replacement is someone who was here before, who has his own quirks, but at least will not be as loud. And I'm still moving to the office where can I work exactly as peacefully as I want to.

My friend wanted to do a full on picnic with blankets and baskets, and when I said I had the blanket they asked if we could do a fancy Victorian picnic. Heck yes, sign me up! So now I'm noodling on a mid-teens lingerie dress, which I had intended to do anyway, and this might be the thing that pushes me into it. Guess I better start that corset cover :D
