I need to book a week off from work so I can just chill. Weekends are never long enough.

Decided to sew a Frances rump on Friday night. I did the long seam by machine but everything else by hand, and I'm ANNOYED at myself for not measuring it before I finished stitching it up. It looks gorgeous. It's not big enough. Grrf. I'm not sure where my other rump is, probably in a bin in a closet. I wanted to compare them before closing the new one up but just used the pattern piece instead, and then didn't double check the filling level before it was too late. It took a little less than the full season of Dead Boy Detectives.

Saturday, I spent over an hour in the car first thing to get the auction items. I didn't mean to get anything from the west side, that took the longest amount of time. Getting to the east side one was trickier bc its in the middle of a heavy construction area, but it's much closer to me. I will be more careful in the future. THRILLED though with the things i got. There was a little USB powered reading light which should be good for sewing, especially since the machine's light is burnt out; a set of USB-C headphones which appear to be great! (I had to fight a bit for those, probably bc they came with 2 long USB lightning cords. Why the F would those be bundled together.) Then a spice rack with jars and labels, which allowed me to de-jar several older jars and a couple of bags, plus get them NEATLY onto the counter. Still have a few things that didn't fit. Lastly, a set of bed risers which I will use to lift my table to a lot closer to counter height - aka sewing height.

The kittens of course had to inspect every box and be involved in every part of the process.

M and I went out around 1 to get yummy food, and then spent almost 2 hours at IKEA. It was busy, we had to park way out, but honestly it wasn't terrible. I picked up some SAMLA bins, one of which was already stuffed with the zipper collection I bought for bag-making. The hardware went into another bin, which was far less full, but also I don't have the full selection of things I want yet. Hehehe. Then we went to Michaels for frames, since she couldn't get what she wanted at IKEA, and finished the day off with milkshakes.

Sunday I finished sewing the rump. Modified a couple patterns but did nothing else with them. Brought my library book out to start reading, but I ended up doomscrolling on instagram and facebook instead. Alas.

HILARIOUSLY, more than one person sent me images like "you are amazing and ilu". Since I spent some time last week looking for posts about my curtain-along gown, it was in a time when I was finally not being run ragged and had more opportunity to feel my winter SAD feelings, and I wrote quite a bit about that here. It was somewhat amusing to be reminded of that, since my therapist and I had talked about how to relieve some of those SADs, when she of course has no idea how much work i've already put in.

They used to manifest as "no one really likes you, they only tolerate you", and I worked really really REALLY hard to deflect that line of thought until it was a LOT milder. It's good to be reminded of the work I did, and to have it reaffirmed without having said anything about it. You like me! You really like me!
