I was gonna post all excited like on Friday with my weekend plans (as usual) but it got quite late in the afternoon and I ran up to my exit time, and when I got home I had a notice that the landlords will be doing an inspection this week, on Thursday. So that kinda brought me down a bit.

Also of note: i have run out of brain meds so the last couple days have been increasingly uncomfortable as my brain gets more zappy. I left the renewals too late, intending to book in with my doc, until that ran up against a very busy work week. Lessons learned, and the new batch should be ready to day. (If i don't hear anything by 4pm, im calling them again and saying I NEED THIS NOW SORRY I WAS DUMB CAN I PLEASE HAVE SOMETHING I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.)

I can't remember what i had planned before the notice. I did absolutely nothing ABOUT the notice except kind of let it sink in and really look at my place. The notice specifically said they were not looking for minor issues but things more like is stuff in good repair and clean. So I plan to put some things away, vacuum, make sure my dishes are done and put away, and that it looks tidy if not particularly minimal.

Earlier last week I finally put the table up on the risers and what a difference! I haven't measured the height but I think it's around 35". I spent one evening as soon as I got home cutting out Bruyere (with plenty of help from the kittens, especially Calcifer who thought it was playtime and obviously that meant BITING YOU BITING YOU BITING YOU) and am now dreaming of all the things I can do with an almost perfectly tall table.

Saturday I sewed the entirety of Bruyere, right up to the point where I needed to put in buttonholes. My main machine is a slant shank and I don't have very many feet for it - it came to me as the machine and its electrics, plus a zipper foot that is not for it, and I have gotten a few over the last few years but a buttonholer is not one of them. I think I've seen one for sale over the last several years, and it was being sold on Poshmark for $50. (Granted, I have not been looking very hard.) I do have a pair of low shank buttonholers, but that meant getting out Jenny the Janome and meeehhhhh seems like work. So I left it and kind of rotted for the rest of the day.

On Sunday I decided that the shirt needed buttonholes and buttons and then I would feel accomplished*, but why would I use a modern machine when I could use a vintage one! So Beatrice got put aside and I pulled out the stunning blue Brother class 15 and gave her a quick tune-up. But... the feed dogs don't drop, so I needed to cover them, and the plate that came with the Singer attachment didn't quite fit. I chipped the paint and finish trying to get it to work (crying). Jenny the Janome it was, she is the only machine I can drop the feed dogs on, without attempting the plate on one of treadle machines.

It needed 10 buttons but I could only find 9 matching ones in the collection. Close enough, leave the bottom one off, done. Today is a hockey game so I have worn my jersey, but I will wear Bruyere this week and get bathroom photos.

I finished seaming the curtain-along petticoat but when I went to try and pleat it, first it would be easier done on a flat surface (like my table!), and since it was hockey night I decided to enjoy an adult beverage, but when I opened the can it sprayed EVERYWHERE and was mostly caught by the fabric. Welp! It's going in the wash first.

I should make a list of all the things I want to make and then pick a new project, because I'm not sure what to start next.

* I read something recently about how people with ADHD sometimes don't get the dopamine hit from finishing a project because XYZ reasons about distribution during the process. I felt that with this project.

But first, preparing for the inspection. I can't go hard every evening all evening, that's just not how I work, so hopefully with liberal use of timers, I can like, focus on small portions for a bit. Dishes need to be done, floors need to be swept/vacuumed maybe even wiped with the swiffer (but the area around the litter box will need to be done as close to last as possible), wipe down obvious surfaces from dust and paw prints. I'd like to get some more of the fabric bins put away and also some of the boxes that are hanging around (many of which are sewing-related). Those will definitely be "a few at a time" projects. I will do my best!
