Went to workwife's house, glad to see her for even as short a time as I was there. Her little guy was, best as I can tell, not all that scared of me! She said that he will hide his face when meeting new people, and he didn't really do that (hands up around his eyes, but he didn't cover them). He was, however, refusing to either eat a bit of pizza or spit it out, so they'd been trying for an hour to coax him to do either. (They finally managed it by bribing him with ice cream. It would work on me, let me tell you.) They thought that me being a single income household, I would appreciate some of the items in my pantry and freezer, and they were right! I came home with some fresh and frozen veggies, fries and hashbrowns, canned tomatoes, and literally 4 POUNDS of butter XD They were meant to be cookies, and they still will be, no worries there! I've been wanting to bake but hadn't bought new butter yet. Problem solved.
With my wad of cash from the weekend, I purchased some orthotic shoes (a pair of Doc Martin knock-offs and sandals to replace the 8 year old ones I've been wearing as house shoes), glasses with my new prescription (including a pair of clip on sunnies until I can get actual sunnies - prescription sun lenses are $$! As we head into shorter days I will need them less and less), and then treated myself to some fabric, entirely because a store in Vancouver has striped cotton twill that is perfect for a skirt out of Eaton's 1917 spring/summer catalogue. I also got some shirting fabrics which I have not-quite-dedicated plans for. Luckily I haven't fully started the whole 30 yet, so I don't have to reset lol.
This weekend, aside from a visit with my gramma, I don't have many plans. Would still like to see the movie with my sibling. Baking (bread, at the very least). Certainly a lot of cross stitch. Perhaps start going through my stash of fabric, especially if the weather cooperates (it's gonna be a HOT project, much easier if the apartment is cooler), and reading.
