A weekend recap...

...in which I did none of the things I intended to do!
Friday I just wasn't all that hungry so I had a snack of cheese, pickles and tomatoes and called it good enough. I ordered some pant hooks & bars and a roll of interfacing from the 'zon, and with prime I could have delivery like REALLY EARLY, slightly less early, or just that day. I picked slightly less early and was looking forward to having some sewing to experiment on.
In the morning, while lying in bed noodling around on my phone, I got a phone call from an unlisted Ontario number which I ignored. When I finally looked at all of the messages etc half an hour later, it was apparently from the amazon driver who left no message, but opened a text chat via amazon which said "i'm at the front door".
Reader, my directions say to leave things at the BACK door.
The text indicated it would be open for 5 mins, and it was well over 30 by the time I read it. No such luck. The tracking all day just said "there was a delay, pls update your delivery preferences, we'll try again", and it said that until late Sunday afternoon. We'll try again WHEN?!?!?!?!
The last time this happened, it took them 4 days to figure out their crap. Grrrrr.
I'd decided that I wanted to go out, so i did! I thought I would get air in the tires first, then stop for lunch (I'd been considering ordering in, but it would save me $10 in fees so...) and hit up a bookstore for Onyx Storm. I had a gift card to use and the feds had put a GST freeze on some items including books that is ending this week so... I got a new release hardcover book for $15 of my own dollarbucks hehehe.
Also my tire was not flat. The up and down weather has made for some ice divots around people's cars and I must have been parked on the edge of it which caused it to look flat. I found some air (the first place wasn't working) and it was maybe a couple PSI under, so since I paid for the air anyway, I topped the tires up.
Otherwise spent the weekend mad at Amazon, watching my Ambulance show and poking at the cross stitch. I decided to move the frame up the last third, exposing ALL KINDS of untouched fabric awaiting my needle.
Imagine my surprise on Sunday to go to the door to pick up my food order and lo, Amazon is walking up with my package. Far too late to do anything with the contents but at least it was there. The interfacing is a lot lighter than I thought it might be. I'll try interfacing something tonight to see how it goes. It's only 11" wide but there's 10 yards of it, so I hope it doesn't suck.
Still need to do laundry, vacuuming, moving of furniture, always more dishes, bathroom cleaning... the list never ends. I've also been kind of dissociating at home, which I noticed bc I was getting very thirsty and ignoring my empty water cup to do anything about. That is normal for me at this time of year, but I'd still like to at least attempt some things to make my living space feel nice for hibernating in.
I had an enormous hunk of something fall out of my uterus, that would have covered a goodly portion of my palm had it been held there. It was fascinating. Overnight was surprisingly good, I normally have to wake up at least 2 to empty the disc, but I slept right through.
The day though... Oh boy. We were back to 20-30 min intervals between bathroom trips. I still braved the outside world. And thank goodness for back up pads bc that thing was full by the time I got home WITH a pair of bathroom stops to empty the disc. But as the day went on, it tapered off and I got another full night of sleep. During the day it was again frequent visits tapering off. Maybe my body just decided to evict everything in a big damn hurry?
IUD is still the plan, but it is not covered by provincial health care, the local gubmint said "absolutely not" to the federal "universal free birth control" plan (which had also included diabetes care, so you can imagine how annoyed certain demographics are), nor by my benefits. So it's an out of pocket cost of around $400. I've only had one potential date for insertion, and I turned it down partly because I knew I couldn't afford the device before then. Alas.
