Canada, primarily thanks to efforts in Quebec, elected a sensible leader yesterday. Even better, Pollievre lost his seat, which means he is no longer allowed in the House of Commons, except as a spectator. (We all vote locally for a member of parliament, and whoever's party has the most members elected becomes prime minister, unless the governor general - the King of England's rep - refuses which I am not sure has ever happened. He lost his seat which means he is no longer an MP and possibly cannot lead that party.)
Yesterday I wasn't feeling good and it got worse and worse as the day went on. I went back to bed around noon, threw up around 2 (poor kittens have never been around someone doing that, they were scared!) and woke up again at 430. I was ROASTING so I took my temp and sure enough, fever of 100.3. That lingered for several hours and had dropped to 98.6 by 11pm, and was 97.7 when I woke up. It was a terrible way to spend the day, though not much different than the way I'd planned to spend it anyway.
Today I am feeling perhaps 70% better. I ordered food last night and got something I could have today, which was a smart decision. Last night's soup was very salty and today's meal will get me through most of the day, I think. Dinner will be a low-effort affair.
I went to print a copy of the trousers to get a better sense of sizing, and was so frustrated that even my "trick" from the Charm patterns wasn't working. It was still cutting off about 1/4" off the top and left edges. Cashmerette has a grid that can be printed (and has to on the Chromebook, since none of the programs I have installed can do layers) which has been very useful in lining things up. But I don't want to do this anymore! So I booted up the old Windows 7 laptop again, remembered my password for it (ie: i was overthinking it last time) and then had to spend like an hour trying to get a driver installed bc the printer and the OS are both no longer supported so it took some time to find a solution. I hate that it's so much easier like that. Layers! Printing settings more complicated than "print at custom scale"! I WILL have to replace that laptop eventually, it's so old and slow, I can't do much with it. The biggest reason I'd keep it is for my Steam library and even that is no longer supported. Its a brick.
Not really up to standing for longer periods so it's time for Vacation Activity #4: video games, while curled up in bed with my kittens.
