Friday it was hoooot when I went home, but I stopped at the pharmacy first and then the grocery store to pick up some coffee cream.
Saturday I thought M and I would go to the farmer's market, but she messaged me that her bank account said no, and mine did too. Also it was already 30C by then, and we were both like "let's... not."
So, I sewed my dress instead! I put a sleeve on the bodice and then tried it on (with a bra, even) and assessed fit. Ended up taking 1/2" out from the CF at the neckline and tapered to nothing at the waist. Moved the neckline out by the same 1/2" and tapered to nothing at the shoulder. Didn't consider the fact that that would change the angle of the shoulder strap. Shortened the front dart 1" and lengthened the side dart 3/4". Used the same back piece, but I did note that it's kind of baggy above the darts so that will require some attention next time.
Sleeves got made, hemmed, rickracked and attached. Bodice neckline was faced rather than lined, and the rickrack was top-stitched in. Then I put the skirt on (fit here was (chef's kiss) perfect). I only have invisible zips ATM so it will wait for a chance to get a regular zip closer to the green colour as I otherwise only have black. Directions said to hang it for 24 hours, so even though it'd been on Josephine since Thursday, I put it back on her. I can probably hem it tonight if I'm not too tired.
I made a stir fry for dinner with my new box of veggies. The mystery item was another head of celery, yuck!
Sunday I watched the latest Patreon video while drinking coffee and being trapped under Calcifer. I had originally thought I would dye my hair, but realized before I got started that I don't have any gloves. Welp. My plan had been to dye my hair --> then the side would also be clean so I could shave it --> take a shower to get rid of the shaved bits that stick everywhere. Nuts! Went out in the afternoon to drop off my Value Village donations and then to meet friends in the park for a get together. I haven't seen a few of them in literally 2 years, it was nice! The weather was very "classic" -- very breezy, cloudy and sunny, much cooler than the day before, damp from the thunderstorms that had rolled through the night before and literally 2 hours previously.
Guess who forgot that cooler air does not mean cooler UV rays and got a sunburn. This gal (gn)!
Treated myself to some ice cream, which kind of messed up the timing of my budget this week. Cable switching from the 23rd to the 5th was stupid. Fingers crossed it works out, bc it's too late now. Played a lot of video games and went to bed.
Today I have liberated some gloves so I will dye my hair tonight. Will probably leave the shaving + shower to tomorrow. Dinner is planned to be a noodle salad. I ought to clean the cat box as well but we will see how I am feeling.
Also got notice that the city is replacing our alley starting on Friday, which means a few buildings worth of people are going to be needing to park elsewhere for a month and the street in front of my place is closest. Eep.
