Weekend of not leaving the house: success! Except for a brief stint outside at the sheltered back door to retrieve my veggie box, I did not set even a hair outside my door. I also rewatched the slutty hockey show (again), finished a knitting project and worked on my journal. Woohoo completed my to-do list!

After finishing the knitting project, I pulled out as much of my sock yarns over the past two years as I could find to make more tiny socks. The kittens were especially underfoot so I didn't get too deep into the bins to find a couple of the missing ones. I also didn't start knitting any of the tiny socks. I was so satisfied with finishing the project that I decided to pull out another one that had been sitting uncompleted for a REALLY LONG TIME. I'd started it when I was still in my little office, but I've been out of there since April so I really have no idea how long it's actually been. It should be a quick one, now that I've started.

Mostly just played silly phone games while watching tv. It was a lovely weekend of snuggling with the kitties.

Also, drop your favourite recipes using jalapenos in the comments, I got SIX with my grocery box and this white girl doesn't know what to do with them!

Without resorting to a specific recipe:

Wash, stem, halve, and core your jalapeƱos.
Use a spoon to core them, don't think you will remember what you did a few hours later when you accidentally touch your eye.
Mix up cream cheese, shredded cheddar, black pepper, and whatever else goes in there (bacon? sausage? feta?)
Fill the halves of the peppers with the cheese and whatever else, if anything.
Lay filling-side-up on a lined or non-stick baking sheet.
(Add panko)
Bake until melty cheesey
Devour

Also, some folks fill the peppers, place the halves together, and then wrap with bacon, holding together with a toothpick, but I have never been successful with that.

Homemade jalapeno poppers, hands down, even if they are a pain in the butt to make. And caramellized jalapeno jam, that is SOO GOOD on everything!
