I had shared the package news with my discord group, who have been hearing all about the shipping woes et al, and they convinced me to share share share! (I put those photos on instagram) It had been a few hours at that point so I loaded up the nicer of the two pens with the ink and wrote a little note with it. This morning I brought a notebook with me and wrote a longer journal-esque entry.

So! All of these things were from Ferris Wheel Press (.com or .ca as is your location; .com definitely kicks you over to .ca in Canada) and I was convinced because A: the ink is VERY pretty, B: it was available locally but sold out, and C: there was a sale, and then I left the cart for a day and they sent me a "don't wait, here's a coupon that gives you a better deal!" email.

Carousel pen in Nevermore Noir (purchased entirely because of the colour name): have not filled or written with with this one, but it's very much an entry level pen, with a lighter feel than the Lamy Al-Star I bought last year. They are about the same price.

Brush pen in Echoes of Eaton: regular $185, on sale for $117 and so I felt it worth the investment, PLUS the decoration on the box is very reminiscent of the 1920s project I'm working on still hehe. It was a limited edition and so they didn't have many left, and I could only get it in a fine nib (my preferred weight). It is really beautiful with the engraved bits, and it's delightfully weighty.

Tears of Sapphire ink: see above for local-store-selling-out lol. The website had lots, and it was the reason I chose to ship to work, since of course it's the middle of December and of course it's minus-bajilion, and of COURSE someone has been home all errk around the time that UPS would have been delivering anyway so it wouldn't have sat outside for long (facepalm). It's a deep turquoise with a pinky-red undertone and silvery sheen that I promptly got all over my fingers (naturally) and while they've noted that a medium nib would help showcase that, I can definitely see the red coming through in regular writing.

Also bought two converters and a sketchbook, which is of beautiful quality.

I have more inks at home from a set I bought for my birthday, and I'm just waiting until tomorrow when it's supposed to -18C/0F instead of -38C/-32?F to bring it all home. I'll try to remember to bring a little warm sleeve or sommat for the ink, even my interior coat pocket isn't all that warm, although it should be fine for the 20-odd minutes I'll spend outside.

Winter! I didn't dare move my care all weekend because the roads had not improved at all. Yesterday I woke up to what looked like rain on my sidewalk, but it was SHEER ICE. It was raining, and it had been raining, and it was freezing. The roads were a MESS. In the afternoon, it switched to snow, and then the wind kicked up and the temperature dropped from around 37F to -20 overnight. On the plus side, my walk was a lot easier without having to watch for every little step, and the roads have firmed up, I think I could get my car back onto my driveway. On the down side, I don't know if it's gonna start, or if I'll be able to get it off the pad of snow its on.

Finished a knitting project last night. That felt good! I decided to tackle one set of sleeves, and I picked the plain ones bc they were half started (raglan style) and I could knit them two at a time. Now the sweater just needs to be blocked. I have the PERFECT shirt for it to go over.

And I always think that finishing a project gives me an excuse to cast on a new one. NO! Esp since I started looking at more sweater patterns. Finish your other sleeves, silly! THEN we can cast on one of the TWO sweaters I already have yarn for. I think I will do the lace sleeve next. The cabled ones are terrifying.

My semi-gift to myself (purchased with a gift card I received through a rewards program at work) arrived, and oh, I love it. I bought a LAMY Safari pen and a Sailor Moon notebook. The notebook is plain paper, which will be great for sketching notes and outfits. The pen is *delightful*. It writes so beautifully, and the ink is a pretty blue with a grey tinge (it came with it). I'm really happy with this purchase! Now I just need a converter, maybe a finer nib, and some pretty ink XD
