Stove Saga!
Jun. 1st, 2021 08:55 amYou totally missed my appliances dying, admit it ;)
We pulled the stove out to investigate the possibility of a fuse being blown. The back needed to come off and at first I didn't see anything wrong - but then I noticed the circuit board had definitely been damaged. The worst part was near the bottom, and had flashed all the way to the top. I declared the stove too unsafe to even attempt using the stove-top, let our homeowner know, and my roommate ordered in Chinese.
The homeowner said to just find a new one, since we are pretty sure the stove is original to it's purchase by her 12 years ago. It's had many many many holiday meals cooked on it, it's time. She told us to find a similar one and she will pay for it. In the mean time, we have other appliances that we can cook on or with, it's just a matter of planning for it. Roomie is working late tonight so I don't have to worry about making sure she has food, but I do need to worry about myself. And also having food for lunches bc eating out every day is expensive.
Roomie suggested going to a store and actually looking at appliances like real adults, but she probably won't want to until her current 10-day stretch of work is over, and I don't want to be without a stove that long.
