Well nuts

I maybe seriously busted the treadle when the shuttle case launched itself out of the missing front plate hole. Replaced the treadle belt (with feline assistance) and wound a new bobbin, and then could NOT get the shuttle to sit proper for love or money. Nothing appears to be broken off the arm, but it's perhaps bent. The hook is meant to sit in a little divot on the case, but it no longer comes anywhere close to the divot and so the shuttle slides back and forth significantly.

I spent a little time knitting, but no matter how asleep the kittens were, it wasn't long before they would come and stick their wee little noses deep into the project bag to sniff the alpaca yarn. So it was a big task just to put some weeny limbs on a knitted frog. The good news is that the weeny limbs didn't take all that long to make, so by early afternoon Sunday I manage to get all the limbs done and tucked all the ends and trimmed them. He looks like Wile E. Coyote with legs splayed out, but its done. Woo!

Friend posted the second part of her niche AU fic, and the total word count of both parts was 37k. The second part alone was 25k! I was so excited and kind of worrying about holding my phone for a couple of hours, and then I thought a ha! My Kindle has a web browser, which is not meant for most webpages but surely AO3 would be alright? It's mostly text. But I tried to scroll and it got bad real fast with HUGE leaps (i only swiped twice but somehow ended up halfway through?) and shadowing of text. So I thought perhaps I could download it directly to the Kindle? AO3 will export in an approved format so... And lo, it DID export and saved directly to the device, allowing me the comfort of a dedicated e-reader. I spent a few hours on the couch with kittens lying on me, reading the most wonderful story. I loved it so much!

Tonight I plan to attempt to start my car and hopefully its still cold enough that the snow isn't too soft while not being too cold to get the old battery to start. I'd like to get some groceries and another cat carrier, because tomorrow my girls will be dropped off in the morning to get their little bits out! And then I was approved to take Wednesday off to supervise them, which I'm grateful for.

One of these days, perhaps even tonight, I need to get the base for the latest machine out of my backseat and into the house. And replace my battery.
