dental care is health care!
Mar. 22nd, 2024 03:07 pmSaw the dentist yesterday. It was indeed a root canal tooth, and the bone and tooth roots still look good. My options are a filling (which would likely give me a couple more years) or putting in a post and crowning it (more long term, better if I want the tooth longer). Both would be preferable over extracting it.
Waiting on quotes, but the filling would likely be covered at 90%, while the post and crown are 50%. The filling would probably cost me $150 max, while the post and crown would be around $800 my cost. My dentist is awesome and she offered payment plans right away, but it's still gonna be awhile before I can consider it.
Complicated by needing to renew my vehicle registration ($93), taxes are due by the end of April (likely gonna be $$$$), our major entertainment expo is end of April and they've finally announced a guest I want to meet (Elliott Page!!!!), and I'd like get an oil change at the very least before I go ($90 usually...), nevermind looking at getting my tire-with-the-bump-on-it replaced (which means two tires). Why is being an adult such a money pit? Who signed me up for this shit??
Yesterday I went to a pizza and movie night at a local yarn store and it was really fun. I took a sweater that the kittens have been VERY interested in and it was so nice to be able to sit and work with two colours of yarn without little paws and teeth helping.
Don't have much planned this weekend besides laundry. Next weekend is PACKED (Easter dinner, birthday party, Broadway show + Easter dinner part 2) so I think I'd like to take this one to hibernate. Gotta make bread and maybe attempt some baking. Should really get some groceries too.
