Jul. 25th, 2024 12:26 pmIt is cool and raining right now, which is just lovely. You may have heard that Jasper National Park and the Jasper townsite are currently burning/have burned - this is near me but not so close that my city was in any danger. Yet. Last year's fires were a lot closer, but this one is hitting more people in the feels. Absolutely gutted for what it means for the residents who rely on tourism and the wildlife.
Last night I was settled with my cross stitch and had laundry on the go and was planning to eat after, when J messaged and asked if I wanted to come with them to a concert at the fairgrounds, for free! I suspected his friend cancelled on him again, given it was nearly 7pm and the concert started at 830, so I said sure, but you're gonna have to wait a few minutes so I can get my laundry out of the dryer. It was nearly done anyway, so they didn't wait long. Concert was fun, it was a band I was never a fan of (Simple Plan) but live music is just enjoyable anyway. We pretty much arrived, quickly made a round for food (me) and drinks (them) (I would have eaten sooner had I known I would be going!), concert, and left. I finished laundry when I got home, good job me!
New toothbrush cup, so far spider-less.
With the heat broken, I can seriously consider other projects again. I picked up elastic on my last shopping trip so I can finish the Nicks dress at last. The heat really highlighted that I need summer clothes! My two skirts, one dress, and three shirts ain't cutting it! I need more shirts, short pants, skirts, dresses. All of the above! Poplina will be more of a cooler weather item, I think, but there's so many other things I can make.
The Bernhardt stays of course must be worked on. M booked her flight last night and her trip is a month after mine. She's leaving in 135 days, so that means I have about 104! That's gonna fly by without seeming like it.
