Budget oops
May. 27th, 2025 07:37 amWelp, 4-week budget plan was only mildly successful, and mostly because I forgot that the Costco membership renews in the beginning of June. I deliberately held off on the deposit of a benefit payment precisely so I didn't pre-spend it, but I managed to do it anyway.
This morning I reminded myself that IT'S OK!!! I am still learning this. Me of all people should know that budgeting is not something people are magically born with (some people seem to be, but they are probably just better planners overall), it is a learned skill and it takes time to build. Try, try again.
Yesterday we had a heckin' good storm roll through. I bagged up the donations (two full bags! How!) and left them in the living room as it was raining and windy, and they'd probably still be there except the kittens thought they were great new toys. I took them out to the car when it was only heckin' wimdy, not raining (again). Kitchen floor swept except around the litter box, which I will do tonight.
Tonight's plan:
I did not do nearly as much as I had planned. Absolutely should be more proactive about cleaning up all the time, but it's boring so I don't. I know they're going to ding the bathroom wall again. Should I have let them know it was still happening in the last 6 months, starting approx 24 hours after the last patch? Yes, yes I should have. Especially after I found evidence of a significant water leak. Oh well.
Have decided that the new bras I bought will either be salvaged for parts or donated. They are more of a demi style which creates kind of a bump in the top center of the left cup in particular. Not the right style for me, alas. $35 for three is still a good deal, even for parts!

Tonight's plan:
- Chairdrobe
- Pile of blankets
- Move linens laundry out of the doorway
- Vacuum hallway
- Bathroom clean (sink, toilet and floor)
- more dishes
- Cat litter and final sweep
- Take out the garbage
