Therapy went well on Wednesday, we mostly kibbitz'd about new job and explored some of the feelings around starting new. I noticed I started to get extra fidgety when a particular topic came up (feeling like I've always been the weird person, this is goes very deep and I need to spend some time with it) but it was towards the end of the session so I didn't have a lot of time to explore. We rebooked for mid-July to check in. I won't have coverage for it yet, but that is OK.
Also on Wednesday, I was late to work because some dingleberry was (apparently) speeding and flipped their car across the train tracks downtown. The train was not involved, but it was greatly affected. Replacement buses were not well placed to take people efficiently, they were at the mercy of construction and traffic like everyone else on the road. It reopened mid-afternoon. I walked over to the next station and saw some of the damage, the vehicle took out a big corner of concrete on the platform steps. Last I heard the driver was in serious condition.
Rest of the week was chill. There were donuts and burgers for summer celebration at my buildings. I made a BANGING chili after
danabren posted about hers. M and I went to a local restaurant for their Pride special and it was fucking amazing. It's rained a bunch more.
Saturday I dyed my hair and did some chores while it processed. Dishes and put away the laundry I did at the beginning of the month. Just in time too, it let me know that I need to do laundry this week lol.
Yesterday was my dance recital and it went really well. It felt good. Two of my classmates came to watch, and they liked it, but other people also said they liked it too. I sat with my teacher for the second half and we sure had some commentary about the "future of dance" as she called it lol. Perhaps with my new role I can afford to take more classes in the fall. That would be nice.
After, we went to the pub across the street with the host and her crew and had a really yummy meal and bitch fest. It was good times :3 I went to Safeway after because I really wanted ice cream. Then back home where I proceeded to rot and forced myself to stay awake even though I wanted a nap because it was like 630 and I wanted to sleep later. (And I did, so it was worth it.)
I put the sleeves on K's dress without prewashing the fabric, which was probably a bad choice. The sewing machine fought me (randomly started doing 20-30 stitches per inch for no reason??) and then the serger fought me (lower looper, aka the devil's asshole) became unthreaded 4" from the end of the second armhole and I had to take half the machine apart to get it threaded and working again. She wants me to hem it, so it's been hanging, and then I remembered that I also have to put buttons and buttonholes on it. BOOOO. Goal is to have it done this week so I can FINALLY mail it off. I can probably get it hemmed tonight, and then I can find some buttons to get it done-done.
Dance is over for the summer so I will have my tuesday night to do whatever I want, Wednesday is Canada Day so sleeping in!! Is this the mythical "when things slow down a bit" we always talk about but never see?
