Sep. 14th, 2008 02:09 amI thought to myself, as I sat on my stool in the store waiting for a customer to come in, that I might have to stay up all night to make my weekend count, esp. since a big chunk of my day had been planned to go into getting the laptop backed up as much as I wanted, and reformatting it.
I don't know how long I'll last, but I'm having to transfer Deadwood episodes two at a time. It kinda sucks. The laptop doesn't recognize the USB reader as a high-speed device (or rather, it does, but the ports apparently aren't, and I supposedly have four of them with only 2 physical slots, according to the device manager), so it takes 15 minutes for each episode to transfer onto the card, and about 2 minutes to get both of them off of the card onto the desktop.
WTF.
So I amused myself with reading the archive of the Edmowrimo nano forums. I totally didn't even realize that one of my pals had posted there about our epic pirate party last year. That was probably in the days when the site was so friggin slow that it was SO not worth it to look at it.
And I figured out how to configure Chatzilla to connect to a server automatically, so I will be redoing the tutorials soon.
But then it hit me suddenly, and I became instantly worried that I'm vesting too much time and emotion into Nano this year, and I'll wind up crashing and burning miserably. This'll be my 7th year participating and my fifth win if I finish. I'm going to try not to think about it just yet. I have sewing projects to work on until October 15th, and then I can focus on it completely. November will be here before I know it and I really shouldn't rush that quickly towards winter.
So, some time soonish, we should have a plot planning party
raspberrybelle But not TOO soon, or I'll fail and that would make me sad :(
Half an hour or so and Season 1 will be done. I'll have to do Season 2 tomorrow, I really don't think I'll last until 6am.
