Mar. 15th, 2009 11:27 pmFFR totally just reminded me, Dad and I were having a nice talk on the way to Calgary about my early writing endeavours (which included his fond reminiscing of a scene he helped with me once, which is over 10 years old and so, less amusing now than it was the, but I digress). One fanfic I wrote came up, and I went OMG! Instead of using this year's code to proof-print a novel I haven't finished yet (and therefore am stressing out about finishing), I can totally print a copy of this fanfic for my shelf. It's the only other novel-length piece of fiction I've ever written (ff.net has its wordcount at over 50k :D) and ACTUALLY finished :O (I even had a sequel planned out that never got off the ground...)
Man, my ideas are so awesome.
(Of course, I still have a couple months to try and finish writing the novel, but I might print up a copy of it anyway, for nostalgic purposes. I haven't read it since I posted it in 2002, and before that, when I wrote it in 1997, but my memory tells me that the upload wasn't QUITE as horrifying as I feared it would be.)
Sorry I didn't contact any of you lovely Calgary ladies :( I didn't have any super-specific plans beyond catching up with one girl I've known for over 15 years but haven't seen in 10 who was diagnosed with leukemia last summer, and it was an Interesting Day (tm) in the end anyway @@ She is looking and doing great, despite multiple complications with previous chemo treatments, and I can't wait to meet her little girl and go to her wedding in the summer :D
(eta: reading my own note in the reviews makes it clear that I was An Idiot ^^;; I'm so awesome in a really bad way, sometimes)
