What kind of PS2 "gift pack" comes with a system and two games, but no memory card?

I played three hours of Dokapon Kingdom yesterday, but it's A: slightly less fun without other players except for a CPU, and B: kicking my ass anyway, so I'm only a little sad at the loss of information.

Must get memory card...

I don't remember getting a memory card in my PS2. I had to buy one separately, but that was like 6 years ago.

I'm not all that surprised, it just seems like a pack that has TWO games with it doesn't have a card to save those games TO...
