Date: 2009-08-07 03:49 am (UTC)Poor poor tasty chowder D: Talking of Azula, my Mom and I finally finished the first season. FINALLY. And Finally got a glimpse of Azula!Crazy.Recipe for Smokey Corn Chowder <3
Ingredients:
8oz sliced bacon
2-10oz package of frozen white corn
1 large sweet onion, chopped
3C chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon paprika
4 green onion, thinly sliced
1 cup of half 'n half (cream)
Steps: *copies right off of the recipe card from the recipe stash*
Cook bacon in large saucepan until crisp then cut into 1/2" pieces. Transfer to paper towel lined plate. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of drippings. Return pot to med. heat to cook onion until soft (5-7 minutes). Add the garlic & paprika, stirring, for 2 minutes. Stir in corn, broth, and half 'n half (cream) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15min. Transfer half of the soup to a blender and puree until smooth. Return to pot, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper (or less, I say) and stir to combine. Divide the soup among individual bowls and top with the scallions and reserved bacon.
Serve with french bread :D
It makes a lot... well, enough for three, at least. Maybe four :3 It's tasty. The recipe also calls for 1/4t of red pepper flakes, but I do not like red pepper flakes or the spice, and so ignore. Y_Y;
