totchipandaI feel better today. Less apathetic :) I got groceries done this morning, and when I got home I started cleaning my apartment. I'm a bit of a slob and I'm really fighting 2-3 generations of hoarding-like behaviours, so the fact that I can see my floor at all is generally fine with me. But my red carpet was turning a distinct shade of grey thanks to a grey cat and it was getting too bad even for me. It was really satisfying to take out 4 bags of garbage from the buckets and vacuum most of the grey away.
Then I spent a few hours watching Misfits and working on a commission I took on. I ordered some muslin from India and it is the lightest fabric I have EVER worked with. It's gorgeous. Somehow my linen lining got really stretched out? I'm not sure what happened, but it was suddenly a different size. Probably because I didn't iron it before I cut it, even though I KNEW I had to do so. Oh well, it mostly lined up. All it needs is sleeves, closures and a skirt. And I need to decide what to line a frock coat with and work on that too, and then make my own gown for the ball.
Best of all, I picked up a full length mirror today to replace my broken one. I even picked up hardware to mount it to a wall. Now I just need to decide where and how to mount it :D (The best spot so far is in the corner by the bathroom, but that's where the main hall, bedroom and main living area all meet, and I have bookcases there, so it's a little... squishy. But there's not a lot of other spaces. And I really want to mount it so I don't knock it over and break it again. Hmmmm.)
