totchipandaI'm starting to really hate February. Saturday was Taste of Animethon and even though I only went for three hours and spent most of that time sitting in a hallway people-watching, I am so glad I wore a cosplay. I was stopped for more photos in the first three minutes after I arrived than the entire four days I wore the costume in 2013, and I got lots of compliments on it. So happy :3
Yesterday I went to Nicole's and knitted while she sewed, then made dinner and watched the Oscars with her roommates, which was nice. I left before the show was over, and decided to hook up my cable to the TV and see if I still get basic cable, and I do! My favourite cooking show airs on a local channel, now I can watch it again. Another friend and I would hang out on IRC and watch the show together, discussing the show and writing during commercial breaks. What fun.
I didn't sleep overly well, and woke up feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything. I need to line up a second job ASAP. It has occurred to me that I CAN replace my primary job, but... Most of what's advertising full-time last night was trades (no qualifications), sales (not the right fit), or management in retail or fast food (paying less than I'm making now). I found a couple of prospects but all they said was "competitive wages" but even if I made $20/hr I'd still be barely making ends meet... I really hate this feeling :( this is typically my worst week with SAD, I think this week is gonna be pretty bad :(
