Migraines and costume-musings

On Tuesday I woke up with a killer migraine. I got up as late as possible (and even if I had left the house in a timely fashion, I probably would have been late for work anyway), was upright for all of three seconds before my head was telling me to get back into bed, NOW. I did so, after getting advil, and then called work to say that I needed more time. It stopped hurting shortly after and I made it to work only an hour late. But then I also spent the entire day with the migraine-hangover. I wanted to just go home after work, but I HAD to go to dance class, because we were performing our choreography on Thursday but with fewer people, and we needed to go over it with those people to work it out. I knew I would feel fine on Thursday and thus would need to attend class to get my position, but it was a bit of a rough day.
Starting Thursday night, I just keep having weird dreams. And by weird, I mean REALLY FECKING WEIRD. I can't remember 99% of them, but they've been memorable in the sense that they are REALLY WEIRD. So I spent all of Thursday anxious over the performance, a leftover of the dreams, and the performance went perfectly fine. It was a very small stage, but no one dropped a sword, injured themselves or anyone else, and no one crashed into each other, and it was fine. And the audience seemed to really like it, so that bodes well for the Real Performance next Sunday :)
Friday I was SUPER productive. I cleaned up my living room and kitchen, made three boxes of things to go to Value Village (that still need to go to Value Village, but are at least ready to get out of my home), then I finished two novelty aprons (one required neck binding, the other I had to turn the straps inside out and attach them), and made a mid-19th century bum roll. Then my evening wore down and I didn't do much else, but that was OK. Oh, I did put the facing on one side of my waistcoat, unpicked one of the curtain ties for the interfacing, made up and pinned the second facing. Would love to get that off of my table.
Saturday I went to dance class, and grocery-shopped, and eventually made the lining for my cosplay, and otherwise spent the entire day watching movies and doing very little else.
Today I woke up with another migraine. And I think I might have preferred Tuesday's migraine over this one. Tuesday's migraine was a big, throbbing, lay-down-or-throw-up affair that was easily remedied with some advil and a bit of rest, even if I did spend the rest of the day with the hangover. Today's migraine is a small little spot of low-level yet persistent pain that makes me disinclined to do anything, because everything aggravates it, yet it won't go away. And by avoiding doing anything to avoid aggravating it, it's not really helping, since that unfortunately includes eating and drinking.
Con is NEXT WEEK. That leaves me roughly 10 days, including today, to finish my "base" outfit, which CAN be done. And possibly the bodiced layer too, if I'm ambitious. BUT. I have dinner tomorrow, dance rehearsal on Tuesday, possibly on Wednesday if I want to drive to the studio (also avoiding putting gas in the car since they always bump the prices up on a long weekend, but I only have a quarter tank and we shall see; I also REALLY need to visit my friend to use her washing machine and do laundry, and I can probably style the wig while I'm there), but Thursday and Friday evenings are currently clear, rehearsal part 2 on Saturday and the show on Sunday, and then 3 evenings left, because I plan on leaving right after work on Thursday. Need to finish the costume, style the wig, plan my other 2 costumes. Doctor Who is very comfy (Sunday?) and I suppose I could wear a bustle gown? Or Babylon 5? The whore-I-mean-handmaiden gown? Dear self, whatever you do, do not plan on sewing a complete new costume for the con, aside from the one already in the works. DO NOT DO IT.
