1840s Day Dress

I got very determined tonight to start my next HSM project, so of course that meant I had to spend an hour or two cruising Pinterest and the museum websites pinning pretty dresses lol. Then I went digging for fabric to see if a length was enough, and found a different one that I'd earmarked for this era. Then I spent another hour waffling over the design and pattern I wanted to use and finally made a mockup. I have to take out some length in the shoulders as expected and maybe not make the darts at the width given, but other than that it fit great! I work late the next couple of nights but no reason why I can't start cutting things out :-) I think I'll construct hidden things by machine but do visible areas and possibly anywhere it's piped by hand. My last piping project was way more complicated by machine.
