Oh, I so wish I could sleep like how I nap, most of the time. It was about 5:45pm, I was happily snuggled into a blanket on the couch, Guido was stretched out across my torso, purring away, and I had just started the third episode of My Little Pony for the night. I felt sleepy, and thought sure, this episode will be over in 20 minutes and then Netflix will ask me if I'm still watching. That's a good amount of time to nap.
Ha. Ha. Ha. I woke up an hour later, disoriented and confused. It was "only" 6:48. Guido was gone, and Netflix was asking me if I was still watching, and likely had been for the past 40 minutes. Sometimes, when I nap, I get this horrid taste in my mouth , and sometimes that's the only way I know I even "unplugged" long enough to be considered a nap. The taste lingered for three hours.
And predictably, when it was time to go to bed, I was wiiiiiide awake. I read until 2:30 and decided to try and sleep, where I rolled around for another hour, brain still working a mile a minute, and also anxious about Stuff and Things. The light coming in the window was amplified by the cloud cover (if/when I do sign that lease, I'm putting up curtains. The blinds aren't enough) and I finally dozed off on my tummy head turned to the side. Because I woke up not too long after, with a giant crick in my neck. And when my alarm was going off, it was confusing, and seemed to be made of magic, and of course in between each snooze session, I was back to sleep and dreaming, but eventually I really needed to get up.
Today is going to be a day of MORE COFFEE.
