Unrelated thoughts redux
Aug. 17th, 2016 10:55 amFixed my phone issues! I was preparing myself to go talk to the kiosk again, when I thought that the only thing I hadn't done yet was reboot the phone. It had been on since the moment I bought it, before my number was fully ported over. So I did that, and it works now! I get pretty decent coverage everywhere I've been so far! Most importantly, it works at work. I can hunt Pokemon if I want to. I also figured out how to port my Sailor Moon Drops game from my tablet. Alas, I forgot my charging cable at home today, so I can't do much Pokemon hunting OR Sailor Moon Dropping, especially since I am going to Nicole's tonight to do laundry. I used to steal power from her since we had the same phone, but no longer! (Actually I might go home to retrieve it...)

Did more research into my family tree. SO COOL! I Googled one of the towns I found on Ancestry and followed the rabbit hole and it turns out that my family immigrated into Russia from Germany, on invitation from Catherine the Great (just like my Geepa's family!), and that one of my family friend's family is also from that same region. It BLEW my mind. I found maps and books written on the subject, websites dedicated to genealogy and a convention, and there's probably over 2 million people today related to these immigrants.

No sewing has happened over the past few days, I've been away from home a lot. Monday was the day I did most of the research at my friend's house, and yesterday we went to see the new Star Trek movie. It was very enjoyable!
I did spend a lot of time yesterday afternoon looking up Brunswicks, and today just costumes in general. We have plans to visit a fabric store tonight and I didn't bring the costume I'm currently working on, but I do need to make some petticoats for it. That is my plan!
