On Friday, my dad and brother helped me move the sewing desk from the guy's garage and into my apartment. It's seriously so beautiful. I put the machine in it yesterday but I won't get the treadle belt on until I know if I can make it sew nicely. It'll do about 6 stitches and then it'll stop catching the thread for an inch or two before picking it back up. Now that it's solidly secured in a table I can maybe watch how it moves around underneath. I don't have an original bobbin case and the one I do have wiggles quite a lot. It has a little curly cue tensioner on it, but the results for sewing with the bobbin thread either in or out of the curly cue are the same.

After we picked it up, I took them out for dinner as a thank-you for helping me (both with the table and for pushing me out of my parking spot, twice). The restaurant was practically empty and we had an impromptu "family therapy" time, which was really just me going on about the book I'm reading and the exercises I'm doing. It had kinda come up naturally that Mum was trying to be a part of my life and I was trying not to let her, and (WORD VOMIT). There were some things I had questions about, and I got a couple answers that I sort of wanted to know (but also didn't). Such a difference talking with my dad. It's about time I moved on to part 2.

On Saturday we had a little meet & greet for my new Facebook group. After that, I was doing laundry at Nicole's and ended up staying longer than I had planned to because her boyfriend's car needed an urgent repair. So after I had taken him to Canadian Tire to get the part (that in part drove the car's cooling system - it was a lot better not to move it right away), he arranged with his dad to come help him put it on, and then I made dinner for us all. It was a bit self-serving, I was hungry and it meant I both didn't need to cook just for myself and wouldn't have to clean up all of the dishes, but also because it was dinner time, people were home, let's EAT darn it. And then since I was super tired all day long, I went to bed early.

Yesterday I got out the yellow yarn for Katie's pineapple bag, and spent several hours winding it first onto a piece of tubing and then onto a cardboard roll because SOMEHOW it got tangled in one spot, and almost half of the skein needed to be untangled from itself. Now I think I've got it, but do I keep winding it onto cardboard or do I try to get it wound properly with the winder? Why couldn't it just have worked.

Sewing machine inside cabinet sounds lovely. Hope you can get it running.

And naughty skein. Tangles are not nice.
