Still nothin' & April Undies
Apr. 2nd, 2020 10:22 amNothin'
Turned in my notice at the apartment that I want to break my lease. I have heard nothing yet. Nothing about the letter, nothing about the repair timeline, NOTHING.
Roommate and I did an acrylic Paint Nite type thing on Sunday, hosted by a local guy. We had such a good time that I had to buy more paint supplies so we can do it again lol. Luckily for me, Michaels Canada recently went online and now that the stores are closed, they are doing click 'n collect. Plus I could pay via PayPal.
Nicole gets the keys for her new house on April 17, and she should be moved out by the end of the month. Then I can get myself truly settled.
April Undies
I had wanted to make more underwear this year anyway, and had 2 sets of stays and at least one new shift on my list. It was partly in prep for June, since I only have 2 shifts, and wanted a new set of Regency stays. Talking about it with
ktlovely a couple weeks ago, we decided to do #aprilundies on Instagram. April is a bit of a weird month, with three full weeks and two half weeks, so I broke up stays over the half weeks, with the idea that they could be worked on all month around the other things, and then go to the shift/chemise layer (drawers if you want 'em - Katie is working on a very odd but totally period drawers with bodies), any supports you'd like (pads, rumps, hoops, pocketed or otherwise, plumpers, etc), a base petticoat, and then finish off with stays/corset. I put in a couple orders for linen and other supplies, which should be here next week, so I will be working out of order.
TBH I'm not convinced June will be happening now. I think we're going to have to keep social distancing for quite a while to prevent a secondary outbreak, especially with numbers climbing in North America. If it does, I will toss together a wardrobe. Right now I need to work on things I'm passionate about starting (because two health care pros told me to aggressively pursue my hobbies, so that's not going to include "obligation sewing"), and that's 18th century stays and all the kit that goes with it. I WILL get to the Regency stuff. Just not right away.
