Life, again

totchipandaI hate that DW only lets you go back 14 days. I def missed something bc I was not diligent about checking.
Since last time:
-Went on a river float, which was SO fun and REALLY nice, except the gentle motion of the river eventually got to me and I was SO sick. My boss asked me to go in the next day, but I couldn't bc my stomach was still having fits. We had our parking access removed, and the thought of 20+ minutes masked on a bus was a hard no.
-Did go to work a week earlier than planned so I could get some training on the print shop side of things. It was fun
-Also went back to work a few days earlier than planned so I ended up going in for 2 full weeks! One coworker who was scheduled to go in ended up having a COVID test (negative) but boss decided for consistency it was fine for me to go in the entire time instead.
-I also did one day last week, and will have one more day this month, but I am otherwise on furlough again, so weekly existential crises are scheduled again. The current news is bringing the office up to 300 people returned (out of 1500) so... I don't forsee a significant change in my year, right now.
-Hunt for a roommate continues. We have a pair of applicants on Thursday coming for tours.
-Went to Michaels a LOT. I wanted a sign I had seen a few weeks ago, but the local one was out of stock. Drove out to another city to see if the website was correct (it was not) (also this city is practically a suburb so it's not as far as it sounds), and then went to a southside store (success!). We went back again bc they had fun garlands, which we have already put up.
-JUNK DAY!!! The condo board had scheduled a crew to do junk pick up, so we put out SO MANY CONTAINERS OF PAINT. Ended up keeping ONE bc I plan to paint downstairs and the date on the can was from 2018. The earliest date I found was 2011. There was a mix of gloss and matte white, both interior and exterior, and none of it had been touched in at least 4 years. BYEEEEE. We also got a few other things out of the house, like the broken aquarium and some construction supplies we had no idea what was here for.
-Went to a picnic!! We dressed up and went to the university's agricultural gardens and tried to stay far far away from people and each other, but it was lovely. Saw people I don't live with, wore my redingote for the first time since Costume College 2018, made an excessively large hat that was absolutely perfect, even managed to fake my hair big enough for the hat to sit on.
-Then I managed to PUT THE OUTFIT AWAY only one week after the event! YAY!
-Finished knitting a sweater. It was all stockingette in the round so it went real fast.
-Read and finished an audio book while I was on the bus. I was so mad about the ending that I decided to fix it with fanfiction. For such a popular series, there is only 19 fics on AO3, and only 2 are about the characters I wanted. So, you know what that means, long time denizens of the internet. When it doesn't exist, you have to make it. It's about 3500 words of smut right now.
Now that I am officially home again, it's time to return to my 20 in 20 project, and everything else that's been on hold for the last few weeks. But gently, bc being furloughed is AWFUL for one's mental health and it is A-OK if the most productive I can be is feeding the cat and myself.
