Jun. 7th, 2022 02:14 pmSaturday: Drove out to my friend's house to re-measure her for a dress I made in 2019. Met her chickens. Then went to another friend's house, she is getting married this year (we hope) so it was a wedding-meeting. I love how light it stays in the summer after the endless darkness in winter, but it kinda messes with my internal clock, because it was still light out when I got home at like 10:30 pm.
Sunday: nuffin. I was really tired all day so I didn't do much more than nap.
Monday: slept all of 4 hours the night before, so at 8:30 when i hit the wall, I struggled through the rest of an ep of Midsomer Murders and went to bed. My roomies got home around 10 and I was awake just long enough to realize that and then I was out.
Much more rested today. Of course I am full of energy (for various values of "energy") and ideas when I have no way to implement them. I decided to start knitting again, and finished up a tricky section of a shawl I am working on on Saturday, and yesterday I decided to start some fingerless mitts in prep for fall. I reminded myself of my self-imposed restriction of only having one type of UFO at a time (I will break this rule for baby knitting) so spent a lil bit perusing both my stash and my Ravelry library for ideas. (Ravelry still sucks, accessibility-wise, and I can't spend much more than 15 mins on it before my eyes shrivel up). This rule is to prevent all of my needles getting tied up (ha) in half-finished projects.
I am not allowing myself to knit a shawl at this time, but that is the only true project I have on the go. I could start on: literally anything else. Something with sleeves. Socks. A hat. Mitts. Where I get stuck is WITH WHAT. I like socks that only cover my ankles, which leaves half a skein to do other stuff with. I like matching mitts, but maybe I need something else? Like a headband? I have a previous project that I frogged for a sweater, and I have finally chosen a replacement pattern, but the replacement has FIVE colours instead of FOUR so it took me some time to decide how I wanted to do that. I got it figured out yesterday. I have three or four yarns I could use for a hat, so which one do I pick first? I'm so indecisive, it's really annoying at times like this!
