The beans are, reportedly, starting to be very mobile. They are almost three weeks old. Peri moved them beneath my brother's bed last week so it is harder to get to them, but they were already very squirmy and starting to explore when I last saw them.

Did not visit yesterday. I was VERY tired all day long so I took a nap when I got home, and then it was late and raining. And it's STILL RAINING. I hate everything.

I was reminded of a themed birthday party I am attending next month, so now I am planning what to wear. I have at least one piece in my costume bin that's suitable (the theme is "medieval" but the birthday gal is not a stickler, if we could wear it to a ren faire it's fine), I really just need something to go with it. I made a McCalls pattern with MASSIVE SLEEVES OF DOOM like... 15 years ago that's only been worn like twice. I was thinking about photographing it to sell, so this is a good opportunity. I do want something to control the fullness around the torso, it's a somewhat shapeless garment otherwise, and I'm very sure I don't have the pattern anymore. A belt would be easiest, so I will see what I can scrounge up.

Do you have a cheap-ass "corset" that can be worn to control the body fullness? I am naturally gritting my teeth while I type that.

Naturally! I don't have one that fits, it's been many years since I went down that road. I'll explore the belt option lol.

"Medieval" should be fun! Massive sleeves of doom sound phenomenal, although possibly difficult to manage with food. But some sacrifices are worth making.

I do love me some massive sleeves of doom, though you're right, food could be tricky lol. Luckily it's not a long party and I fully do not expect her to feed us (though she probably will bc that's how we do, she was semi-recently diagnosed with celiac so I know her food is more specialized and expensive). She's planning some kind of activity though, THAT could be interesting lol.

I was never in the habit of buying trim, so aside from a few pieces of lace and one card of v. narrow navy and gold braid, I have nothing!

I have pondered how to weave yarn without a loom tho... not sure that's much better lol.

Have to love feeling like a glorified cleaning expert.

Hmmm, do you own brooches (or larger pieces of jewelry fittings)? They could be added to a belt as metal fittings for that medieval look.
