Shay dress bodice mock-up is complete. I took out a few fabrics to try out some options: a lightweight green linen, a mid-weight bright blue cotton, a similarly shaded crinkle cotton, and then tried to grasp some fabric from the bins (they're extremely awkward to reach). Happily for me, I reached a length of flowers and bees on blue, and it was perfect. It's a light weight cotton, and the mix of colours makes it ideal for many seasons. And then I found the perfect amount of white poplin scrap to use as the mock-up/lining. (I so felt that pterrible dinosaurs comic about saving a small bit of fabric for years; I used the poplin for a cosplay in 2008)

Bodice cut and stitched, I even put a bra on to try it. And I don't LOVE LOVE it. Overall the fit is good, I'm very happy with the 3/4" I took out of the upper chest height and the fact that while it doesn't fit well it still fits decently. I cut the back and side back as a straight 14, and the fronts graded from 14 to 20 at the waist. I THINK one of the issues was that I dipped the side front in a little below the bust point, and I think I need to smooth it out.

Number one issue though: I was fitting over a bra I don't wear often. I will need to try it on over the more frequently worn one.

Last night I found a charge in my bank account with no info as to who or what it was for. There are only a couple of accounts tied to that information, but just to be safe, I changed a bunch of passwords. I wanted to wait until the full info became available before panicking (it just said "purchase" when it normally will put the name of the company or service, but it takes a day or two for that info to become available). LO! It was the Costco renewal fee. I forgot I had linked the card there, and while I knew the renewal period was coming up, I didn't give it any further thought beyond that lol. Not sorry I changed passwords though, I'd been meaning to do it for awhile.

Weekend time and glorious nothing planned. Don't see why I won't be able to get some/a lot of sewing done. I also want to spend a bit of time looking into some logistics, maybe build a spreadsheet (fans self). But most importantly, going to see my tiny loves. I haven't been over in a week, I miss them.
