Dec. 21st, 2023 08:33 amY'all, bra sewing is addictive. It's the right amount of fiddly and precise without being overwhelming. Monday night I started sewing the second one together and ended up spending an hour or so hand-basting some pieces together because they were sooooo slippery! Tuesday I finished it up, with the kittens' help (dangly elastics are dangerous you know) and I am now awaiting replacement wires.
My love had sent me a gift card for Emerald Erin, so the hardest part was deciding what to spend it on lol. I bought two bralette kits and the replacement wires. Canada Post is optimistically saying it will be here tomorrow.
I don't know how holidays get so busy. I have three shifts left at the holiday job, then after I'm done on the 24th I will be stopping to feed my friend's cat, and possibly dinner at the former roomies. On the 25th I will be feeding the cat, going to one aunt's for a little bit, then going to my other aunt's for dinner. And then on the 27th, M and I are most likely going to get one Adulting Task done (updating our photo ids) and then treating ourselves to a coffee shop we've been discussing for MONTHS. And maybe some books.
On the 26th, I am doing NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL. I do now know who finds the holidays relaxing, because it is not me.
But you know what, I came home on Monday and Tuesday and spent a couple hours each night sewing while I had a show going, and it was really lovely. I'd like to keep that up going forward.
I've had a low-grade cold going on this week, dragging my energy down and making me need to blow my nose and cough a little more. I've been masking while oot and aboot and at work just in case, and wow have I ever been noticing more people who are coughing and sniffling without covering their mouths or wearing a mask!

Date: 2023-12-21 08:32 pm (UTC)At least your holiday schedule involves staying moderately local, and you aren't hopping on a plane/hotel/other travel shenanigans.
