Inspec Prep Day 3
Jun. 13th, 2024 09:05 amI have done what I could do and while I can see what I did, they won't and that has to be OK! I'm proud of it.
Yesterday was *rough* for cleaning. I didn't eat enough during the day so I was already hangry when I got home but I launched into tidying with vague plans about what to make for dinner later. Tidying involved a lot of shifting and lifting. I had a full bin at the door and an empty bin on top of it, partially filled with recyclables. It had been there for almost 24 hours but no, NOW was the time for the kittens to overturn it. While I was crouched on the floor collecting up the things that had spilled, Calcifer decided she absolutely had to go into the open closet behind me, but then felt trapped and absolutely HAD to escape. Her route involved climbing up my back and over my shoulder, WITH claws.
OW. Ow ow ow. I haven't checked to see how bad any of hte marks might be, but they STUNG.
Almost immediately after, she knocked something off the table and I evicted her from the room. And then decided that I was too tired and hangry, so FUCK THIS SHIT and I ordered myself a fun dinner.
Had to pause cleaning for a bit while I attended a virtual writing lecture, in which I would have liked to knit while I listened but no, that was also time for Calcifer to hunt my yarn! She also insisted on getting to my lap by walking OVER my keyboard, even though it was on a tv table. Sigh. She's lucky she's cute.
After, I wrapped up the chores I'd put off (dishes, mostly) and called it a day. I'd done what I could. It would have to be enough.
DOn't think the day ended there, though. They woke me up at 12:44 am by knocking my barber kit (I could see, in daylight) off the nighttable. I was away until shortly after 2, and then woke up again right around 4 after an INTENSE dream involving Sebastian Stan. Finally dragged my ass out of bed at 6:30 because I still had a couple things to do, like taking the garbages out. I wrote a note for the people that the kittens like to run, but they can be deterred and if not, they can be chased back in. It is what it is!
Today is Bridgerton day, and also a home playoff game so I fully intend to make my dinner that I didn't make last night and rot on the couch! Tomorrow my coworkers have planned a karaoke night so that will be fun. I'm so tired y'all. 2.5 evenings of sustained efforts (even if they were short) was a lot for me. If I can maintain it, that will be fabulous so I never have to do this again! (they said, knowing full well that this has been said before and will be said again because nothing will change)
