I have returned

What a trip! I was a ball of anxiety before we left (not helped by the work things) though it was more of an excited anxious. I dyed my hair finally the night before we got on the plane, packed the bag, and set an alarm. Of course I was awake well in advance, but I didn't want to risk missing anything.
I'll post about the minutiae of the trip on another day, mid-afternoon is not a good time for writing for me, but rest assured that I had an amazing time, and I absolutely loved Toronto as a city. Their public transit was top tier. The concert was incredible. My relatives drove in from Ottawa and we spent the day driving down to Niagara Falls and visiting for the first time in 10.5 years. M and I made some noises about how, in a year or so, we could plan a cross-country move. I spent yesterday turning myself into a pretzel on the couch bc I hadn't had a chance to do so for several days.
Now I am home and I put my big kid pants on and consolidated my budget after a weekend of somewhat willy-nilly spending (truly, it was mostly food and admissions and travel). I just got paid but I have no money for anything until next payday. My aunt had handed me $50 cash for the trip but I'd forgotten it at home, so now it will be my grocery money. I just need a few staples to get me through, cheese and bouillon cubes and some veggies.
That does mean that I won't be getting any interfacing to finish the Scout dress yet. I still want to sew, so I suppose I can do the stays for now, and work on other Regency things as the mood strikes. I have many projects in mind and just need the time to do them, especially now that I'm not distracted with an upcoming trip.

Date: 2025-01-29 08:00 pm (UTC)The front facing just needs to be backed enough for the sake of the buttons and buttonholes, it doesn't do anything structural. Since the design is loose around the bust, the interfacing doesn't need to keep the front fastening from pulling apart and showing the bra.
