I went back through my entries and I think I have NOT cut the waistband for the striped skirt, so I will do that first. That will likely remove the possibility of cutting out shorts from it since it was a TIGHT layout to start with. But should be A-OK to do a sewing machine cover! I was thinking I could also put something on it with the Cricut, since I have not touched it since October lol. I don't know what but. Something.
Round 2 of playoff hockey tonight, so I will put the game on the "radio" and attempt to do some stuff around the house. I made dinner last night which gave me leftovers for tomorrow, which is great. Tonight's dinner will probably be a sandwich. Def need to do some dishes and then we'll see whatever else.
Oh, one thing I did on Sunday was put buttonholes on two pairs of bottoms. I just used the machine's built in function which is much less pretty than the mechanical vintage one. I don't know why but buttonhole stitches always end up pulling the bobbin thread to the top side, yet when I tested out the plain zig-zag stitch, it's perfectly balanced. Noticed because my test buttonhole was with very mis-matched thread, but it does this with the vintage one too. It also had trouble moving the fabric at such a small stitch length, which I will chalk up to the thickness of the fabrics. Currently the Janome is the only machine I have that can do the attachment as I wasn't able to put the plate cover on any of the then-functional vintage machines, I just got super lazy about switching the feet around. They are interior buttons, no one will see them but me.
45 mins of work left. I am so so so SO bored, hence second post of the day! I just want -- I don't even know. I'll go home and not want to do anything there either. Partly bc I have many things to choose from and they're all about the same level of effort/investment but somehow they are all the wrong choices too. IDEK. Here's hoping to get over that hurdle.
