Oct. 20th, 2025 07:52 amFriday me: I'm gonna do ALL THE THINGS!!!!!
Narrator: they did not, in fact, do all the things.
I went to Michaels on Friday because they had a coupon for 55% off a single item for 5-9pm only, and that was absolutely worth the drive. I chose to go into the next city just because the traffic was better. I nabbed a 24x36 cutting mat for a whopping $40, plus a couple sets of markers for my journaling. Popped into Value Village for a sewing machine hunt, and also because the sun was setting and it was hard to see. Walked out with a partial bolt of tulle, a bag of vintage notions (mostly buttons), and a factory folded copy of Simplicity's Buckaroo Bobbins vest and frock coat. The only sewing machine was a vintage basic zig-zag that just isn't what I want. Then home because I was tired and hungry.
Saturday morning I headed out for a little local tour. First to Value Village again, where I found many goodies! I walked out with a hem marker stand that uses powdered chalk (included), a 1958 Simplicity Sewing Book (1962 edition), a vintage costume pattern, a 2005 Vogue pattern for pants and a double-breasted pea coat that is the closest thing to what I want to make in the red wool, and more buttons. I then went to the fancy pen store where they did not have the ink I wanted woe and alas, but I did get a cute journal with cats on it for a whopping $4. Then it was the fabric store where I did not get anything at all (I wanted interfacing at least but it just was not worth the cost). Finally I got cat litter and food, and spent nearly $100 mostly on meats. At home I had a nap and mostly lumped around the house, but did finish a repeat of the newest knitting project.
Yesterday I worked on my journal a bit, knit, cooked up one of my meats and took it easy. Napped again. All in all a very relaxing and chill weekend, although I did not get any patterns printed, let alone cut out or sewn, whoops.
Last night/this morning I was awake from 2-5 AM so I doubt I'll get much accomplished this evening. We shall see.
