totchipandaHokay. So. I've been ignoring my journal. And since I can't find my buttonhole foot, I will post in here instead.
Work on the victorian outfit is going well, barring not being able to finish it with buttonholes at the moment. the underwear is done, and it's actually hella comfy, despite the open crotch. I decided I wouldn't have time to put a new corset together, so I put together the old one again. Didn't take too long. I decided that if i got longer laces, it could work. For now, I just loosened the old ones, put it on, had dad finish lacing it up, and im wearing it right now to get used to it :D It'll come off at 11 PM. You ladies who have worn corsets before, how does your breathing feel at first? I kinda feel like i'll never get a deep breath again D: But my waist came down 2 inches, so thats good... i wonder how much of the bottom bow at the busk will show underneath pettis? and will it keep digging in under my arms like this?
I hope the bustle wire comes in in time. In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions for a substitute that will work? PVC tubing and plastic strapping is not an option. Hoop steel or something similar would be preffered.

This half of the post is almost 100% about Byakuya. I adore him. I adored him from the moment he showed up. His snooty attitude, his unwillingness to break the rules even for his sister, who was about to be executed. (OMG that chapter makes me cry... she's all like "thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.... and goodbye" and is so freaking CALM about the whole thing ;___; Rukiaaaaaa <33333333 I could only hope that everyone could meet an unexpected end with such grace ;___; ) And then later you find out that Byakuya's wife, who died 50 years previous, was actually Rukia's sister. On the morning of the execution, Byakuya is shown before a shrine to his late wife, and says he is going. My pervy mind re-reads that chapter and goes OMG THATS A POSE OF AGONY. He realy doesn't want Rukia to die, but can't get out of it (due to his own stupid stuff-shirted-ness). OMG TEH ANGST XD Byakuya, I harth you. My icon is of his hand in Rukia's, when he apologized to her for not saving her XD MWAHAHA
So yeah, my favourite pairing is ByakuRuki... It's not really incest, 'cause they're not blood-related XD The first fanfic I read just happened to be a Kuchikicest one, and it's really good. In fact, it updated last night, and I squealed in delight at getting a new chapter. OHOHOHOHO Byakuya, you're so cold, but you'll warm up to her XD I know you will *pats his darling head*
I just love everything about him... and only more so when his past marriage came out. I thought it was the cutest thing evar, and just... fit. OMG. I harth him. I really do.

Date: 2006-08-25 05:01 am (UTC)plastic tubing won't hold up my skirts ^^;;; it's more the weight and shape of them than anything else. Great for hoops, im sure, (i want to try it!) but not so great for something that's supposed to have a Big Butt of Doom (tm). I think? the lady who made the pattern said that nothing but metal wire will hold it up properly.

Date: 2006-08-25 05:37 am (UTC)Yeah, I can kind of see that. I did have problems with mine, though I think partly that's from construction and that I cheaped out and used leftovers instead of the sturdier tubing I'd used for my hoop.
You could try it in a pinch, but the boning channels would have to be sewn bigger to accomidate the hoop...
