Where did the week go? It was a blur. A tired blur.

Tuesday: Striped fabric arrived. Danced.
Wednesday: Picked up prescription and the four things I needed to make the dinner I planned. Made a roasted cauliflower taco bowl, enjoyed immensely.
Thursday: um... Can't remember what I ate, besides not needing to worry about leftovers bc I still had a taco bowl, finished off my June journal pages (WHO AM I) so I could use the stickers in the planner.
Friday: Leftover pizza! (I paid for this. I'm still paying for this.) Printed a pattern.

Saturday: Got up early to take M to the airport. It was early enough that none of the places I wanted to go for my errands were open yet. I thought oh, I could just go to Walmart, shop for a bit, then do those errands, but decided no, I wanted more coffee and to pee in my own bathroom. I taped the pattern together, charged my phone and had a snack with the coffee, and THEN headed out. It was such a beautiful day. I went to the pet store first for litter. Should I go to the fabric store? No... OK YES FINE. I did go. I got unexpected items, because of course I did. I got a mustard yellow sweater knit with vague plans, a little over half a yard of green fleece to make some frog plushies, the pale thread I ran out of, and some lingerie elastics to finish off the soft bra I started sewing a couple weeks ago. I then decided to get lunch at McDonald's, which shared the parking lot with the Reuse Centre. I haven't been there in YEARS. People donate little things that can be reused (seems obvious right?) and the last time I was there, it was $5 per box. I was willing to pay that. They've changed it now and all you need to do is weigh it. I was wandering the aisles and came across a bin of felt scraps. Felt scraps! Like the bits I needed for the frog plushies without buying whole sheets! I walked out with the scraps and two sewing patterns, a 1980 set that was missing three pieces and the instructions, and a 1993 dress that was complete, weighing a total of 100g. Finally went home and proceeded to nap, and then started working on the bra.

I forgot to get a closure bit, and then thought I knew better than the instructions and messed up installing the neckline. I had to rip out a double layer of zigzag stitches in black thread on black elastic... but I did it. And it was rather late by then, so set it aside for later.

Sunday: convinced myself to get up because I could sew! And I did, but the machine fought me. I had to rethread it three times just to do the topstitching. I put that machine away and started a frog plushie. I pulled out my two pairs of Augusta stays and tried them on, and compared with patterns in PoF5. I think I can use the second pair if I add a panel to widen the side front area, which I experimented with by pinning in the second panel I'd made and trying it on. (I started that alteration before I moved three years ago, I do not know what my thought process was anymore.) Repinned the sides a little as the bust was too large and wore it back and forth a bit. They are too long in the back, I was feeling the pressure back there. More experimentation required, as I don't know if they can realistically be shortened now, or can I just open the tabs a bit and adjust the lacing? I do recall marking that on that pattern, and I also shortened the new one.

For the remainder of the day, I napped, made baked potatoes for dinner, washed a pan of dishes, shaved my head, and put a bit of thread into the cross stitch. Played a lot of phone games. All in all a very lovely day and weekend.

Last night I was dreaming about travelling and doing stuff, so I woke up so confused, having already done a lot of things in my sleep! Boooo. Trains were delayed this morning so I was very late. I need to make a food for dinner and otherwise the evening is mine.

In hockey news, Vegas lost their Cup run yesterday, and while it pained me to cheer for Carolina after their Cup win in 2006 over my beloved Oilers, I'm GLAD they won it this year. Vegas continues to employ a known rapist as their goalie. Like he was put on trial for it and REGRETTABLY wasn't convicted. Raleigh had the memo and would chant "no means no" during home games (he opined that is all noise and doesn't pay attention) and there was NO WAY I could root for anyone but their opponents. Fuck that guy and their whole franchise who continues to employ him. ETA: AND THEY LOST AT HOME. HAHAHA.
