The petticoat is completely deconstructed except for the hem. I want to press it first before restitching, it's been bundled up in storage for almost 7 years. I have not yet tackled the gown as I wanted to take photos, but it also needs a pressing and the weather has been uncooperative. I should have better light on the weekend.

Wearing the blouse I made last fall and it's just so dang cute. I think I need a second one in the black poplin hehe. I can use my salvaged Girl Guides buttons! I printed out the pattern pieces for a long denim skirt, which I have some stretch denim in a cranberry colour. I might save that for a pair of Ginger jeans. Also printing a dress pattern. I put jeans on today because I didn't want to fuss with anything else, but I really wanted something airy and light.

Tomorrow M and I have Plans (tm) to get yummy food and visit IKEA. I need to run out and pick up the auction items I won, of which Saturday morning is the ONLY time I can go, they close at 5pm on weekdays. Sunday, I thought I might try to get out to visit my gramma, but A: I don't have enough gas, or money for gas, and B: my period is starting today, which means the next two days are gonna be awful, particularly Sunday/Monday. I will call her instead, and not at 8pm.

Aside from those trips oot and aboot, I want to sew!

I am *inspired* to work on my old curtain-along gown, made in 2014/2015 (I remember I had intended to track how long it took me, inspired at the time by [personal profile] mandie_rw's dress in a day and [personal profile] koshka_the_cat and other prolific hand-makers) and then did not work on it at all consistently so I have no idea how long it took! I only wore it once, in 2017, and I spent a couple hours lifting the front hem very sloppily the day before I wore it. It's been on the "to-do" list ever since. (CoCo '17 was its own anxiety-bearing event, separate from but connected to CoCo '18, so the gown held some of those memories and I didn't want to poke the bear, so to speak.)

I talked about it more on my blog rather than here, but it was made from a pattern from They Of Whom We Do Not Speak with a custom-drafted sleeve from... Costume Close-up, I think, because the included one was RIDICULOUS. I recall taking a whole slew of images of how I attempted to proportionally draft it and posted that on said blog (but if they were on photobucket, they are gone forever. Maybe). I gave it some box pleated self-trim and it was styled after my VERY FAVOURITEST GOWN EVER, the striped silk one from Snowshill Manor in PoF 1. Which, with plenty more experience than I had at the time, was not the best gown to model this one after lol. Oh well! It fulfilled a dream and some day I shall have that gorgeous creature in my closet.

Long post is long. )

I definitely messed up the height adjustment lol. The front bodice ended up shortened by 1.25" and the back would have been 1". Whoops! Haven't had the fucks to care about trying again just yet, with more 4am wake ups in my past. And I'll do it properly this time haha.

[profile] avantgarb_ on Instagram posted a new curtain-along gown that she made recently in the cream colourway, which makes me want to remake my cream gown. I made it 2014 from a RH pattern (before i knew how awful they were/are) and i definitely can't wear it now. I haven't tried since the last time at coco '17, but it was so tight then that im quite sure it has shrunk again ;)
