Oct. 24th, 2023 08:11 amSparkleball Saga: They are ALL missing!! All four! I don't like it, the kittens are much more rambunctious! I heard a noise one night and then strange noises continued, so I got out of bed to see what was up, and they had managed to pull the curtain rod wot was covering the bathroom window down. It was mounted lightly and the kind of rod that has two sides, one half was in the tub with the curtain, and the other was hanging from the wall yet. I removed both and the curtain and put them in the linen closet.
I found Red, which they have been playing with, but it is definitely Not The Favourite and is not played with as if it was.
Flu shot: Was able to get both flu and COVID shots, one each arm, but, as I guessed late on Friday, I am in the group that barely reacted! My arms were very sore, the covid shot site is still tender today, but the only time I felt "bad" in the way that most people do was late on Saturday night. Ha! Well I got a lot of knitting done, and I rested, which is also good.
Speaking of knitting, I am SO CLOSE to finishing that project! I got the last section of separate halves done, and then Saturday joined the two on one side and began all the decreases, which then got finished on Sunday. I immediately moved on to the second half, which needs about 25 more rows. I was gonna push and finish it last night, but just as I was about to begin a colour change, I realized it was 10 pm and I still had shit to do. So I put it down and will finish it either tonight or tomorrow (since tonight is Dancing with the Stars). I started it a year ago, I will be so very happy to have it off my needles!
Winter has officially arrived. It was snowing yesterday morning and of course everyone forgot how bad the roads can be (not helped by a bit of RAIN first that froze and made everything slippery). I wore a "light" winter coat yesterday, and this morning put on the big one. I still want a mid-weight winter coat for weather like this, but I have VERY SPECIFIC ideas of what that coat should look like and materials to be made of, so it's not *urgent*. What WAS urgent was that I do not have winter boots. I wore fashion boots which have ZERO grip, not even a tread, because they cover my toes better than any other shoe I have. I also have specific ideas of boots that I want, but those are both difficult to find and expensive. So I bought some $50 boots on Amazon. They will do for now.
